NTUA
The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) is the oldest and most prestigious educational institution in Greece in technology, founded in 1836. The “Research Lab of Advanced, Composite, Nano Materials & Nanotechnology”, R-Nano is situated at the School of Chemical Engineering of NTUA. R-Nano is the NTUA partner in the project.
Role in the project
NTUA partner participates mainly in work package 3: “HARMONISED RAMAN SPECTRA” and 4: “HARMONISATION OF RAMAN DATA”. In the frame of WP3, NTUA is participating in a complete literature review segmented by topics of existing standards guidelines and academic publications on parameters and protocols for Raman spectrum recording and normalisation. Additionally, NTUA is involved in the round-robin test for verification of standards, materials and protocols. In WP4, NTUA works on the development of a spectrum data processing pipeline in the Python programming language, of a metric for spectra comparison and classification and on defining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the developed harmonisation and chemometrics software for the applications relevant to CHARISMA.

Dr. Nikolaos Nikoloudakis received his BSc in Physics (University of Patras, Greece) in 2008 and his PhD in Astrophysics in 2013 (Durham University, UK). He has developed strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills from his expertise in data analysis, statistics and programming in disciplines like Astrophysics, Trade Credit Insurance, Remote Sensing & Meteorology.
Dr. Afroditi Ntziouni received her degree in Chemical Engineering from NTUA and pursued a PhD in NTUA (2017). She has participated in several Νational and European funded projects in Carbon-based materials and Zeolite Synthesis. Through her participation, she acquired significant expertise in Material Science.
Dr. Ioannis Xiarchos received his degree in Chemical Engineering from NTUA in 2000 and pursued a PhD in NTUA (2006). He has worked abroad in Advanced Methods for Environment Research and Control (Marie Curie Fellowship) and EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery).
Prof. Costas A. Charitidis
will be the coordinator and manager of the activities of NTUA. He is a Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering in NTUA, Head of R-NANO.
