UNE

The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, is legally designated as the National Standardization Body of Spain. It is the national representative and member of the European (CEN and CENELEC), International (ISO and IEC) and Pan-American (COPANT) Standards Organizations, and member of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI).

Role in the project

UNE uses its experience as Standardization Body to support CHARISMA facilitating the use of relevant standards and promoting the contribution to new or existing standards from the results of the project.

The European Standardization Organizations CEN and CENELEC do not participate directly in research and innovation projects, delegating this participation to their national members.  Representing the European standardization organizations CEN and CENELEC, UNE is participating in many research and innovation projects (Horizon 2020, FP7, Life+, CIP etc., see examples here) to support and manage the integration of standardization activities, increasing impact by fostering the dissemination of the results to the relevant European stakeholders and facilitating their market uptake. UNE is also an active member of the CEN-CENELEC Strategic Group ‘STAIR’ (STAndardization, Innovation and Research), which develops guidelines for the practical integration of these three activities and responsible for the Standards+Innovation initiative.

UNE leads WP7 and Task Force 1, both dealing with standardization activities at CEN,CENELEC, ISO, IECE level.
