CHARISMA Project Consortium Meeting in Milan: Advancing Collaboration Towards the Finish Line (June 2024)

Milan, Italy – June 3-5, 2024

The CHARISMA Project held its consortium meeting from June 3 to June 5, 2024, at the Fondazione UNIMI in Milan, Italy. The three-day event, hosted by the University of Milan (UNIMI), brought together our leading project experts and partners to discuss advancements, updates, and future directions of the project.

Day 1: Setting the Stage and the KER Workshop

The meeting commenced on Monday, June 3, with a warm welcome and light lunch at 12:00 PM. Following the initial welcoming session, representatives from UNIMI and CSIC provided an overview of the agenda.

A significant portion of the day was dedicated to the Key Exploitable Results (KERs) workshop led by Yordas Group (YOR). The workshop focused on digital tools, web-based services, and process improvements through demonstrators. After a brief coffee break at 4:00 PM, the session continued with a discussion on reference materials.

In the evening, participants enjoyed a dinner, providing an opportunity for informal networking and discussions.

Day 2: Case Studies and Dissemination Strategies

Tuesday, June 4, began at 9:00 AM with a review of actions, samples, ownership, data analysis. This was followed by presentations of three case studies: ENCAPSULAE, FNMT, and TOPSOE were on the stage.

After a lunch break at 12:00 PM, the focus shifted to dissemination strategies led by YORDAS. The afternoon session featured paper presentations by the main authors, covering topics such as peak fitting, Si/calcite interactions, and specific work packages. CSIC facilitated a feedback session from the External Advisory Board (EAB), providing valuable insights for project refinement.

The day concluded with a historical tram tour of Milan, followed by a meeting dinner offering a blend of cultural and culinary experiences.

Day 3: Future Planning and In-Depth Discussions

The final day, Wednesday, June 5, began with a wrap-up session and outlook for the next six months, chaired by CSIC. WP leaders provided brief updates on their respective work packages.

Parallel sessions for paper and work discussions took place from 10:00 AM, allowing authors to engage in detailed technical exchanges with their peers.

The meeting concluded with a light lunch at 12:00 PM, marking the end of a productive and collaborative event.
