Webinar - Demystifying Raman Spectroscopy: A Comprehensive Guide to Data Calibration, Verification, and Harmonisation

Join us for another CHARISMA webinar!

This webinar aims to comprehensively understand Raman spectroscopy, focusing on practical aspects like data handling, device calibration, and cost-effectiveness. Whether you are a seasoned researcher or a beginner, this webinar will equip you with valuable insights and knowledge. The webinar will review the recent proposal for Raman harmonisation while transferring data across multiple devices.

What will be covered?

  • Raman Spectroscopy calibration and validation landscape

    • The process of calibrating Raman spectroscopy devices and the importance of verification to ensure accurate results. Protocols for EU H2002 CHARISMA will be presented in this context.

  • Single data point vs multi-device or multi-channel systems

    • The use of one vs multiple Raman devices or the use of multi-channel devices in Raman spectroscopy and a discussion about the benefits and challenges of using 1, 2, or 3 channel devices and particular details to be analysed to ensure data transferability.

  • Data reproducibility and quality

    • The importance of data reproducibility in scientific research and how to deal with data quality

We look forward to seeing you!

About the webinar presenters

Dr. Enrique Lozano Diz - Managing Director

Having worked in the analytical devices industry since 2007, Enrique has gained significant commercial and technical experience in laser-based instrumentation, its development and commercialisation, which together with his extensive scientific knowledge (PhD in Chemistry), led him to pursue his ambition of creating ELODIZ Ltd. His life, career and studies have spanned 2 continents. Today, Enrique maintains a strong strategic direction and commitment to his business and its employees. Investing time in technological innovations, he continuously looks for ways to improve ELODIZ products and services, to exceed customer satisfaction and enhance customer experience. Under his management, ELODIZ has been an integral member of the CHARISMA Consortium for the Harmonisation of data in Raman spectroscopy.

Dr. James Thomson – Lead Scientist

Dr. James Thomson has used Raman spectroscopy from the beginning of his career, starting with the H2020 project PLIANT which focused on production line chemical assessment, as well as being one of the initial members of PhLAME research group established by NNL and The University of Manchester which focused on in-situ, at-distance and in-line laser-based characterisation. At ELODIZ, James is the lead researcher on the H2020 project CHARISMA, which focuses on harmonising Raman spectroscopy.
