CHARISMA held its second biannual consortium meeting in Athens (November 2022)

The meeting took place on 22-24 November 2022 in Athens. As part of the consortium meeting, a Joint Workshop by NMBP-35 projects CHARISMA, EASI-STRESS and NanoMECommons was held on the third day, 24 November 2022.

CHARISMA Project Consortium

CHARISMA partners met in Athens on 22-24 November and held the second consortium meeting of 2022. The assembly was hosted by The National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in their renowned library building.

The project partners came together to discuss how each of them had been contributing to the accomplishment of the CHARISMA objectives regarding the harmonisation, standardisation and characterisation activities in the context of Raman spectroscopy.

Each member of the CHARISMA consortium shared their task status and the results achieved by then. The presentations allowed for comprehensive discussions and fruitful information exchange among partners, helping to form the strategies to be employed in 2023 and 2024.

CHARISMA has had a very productive 2022 so far and created a lot of opportunities to bring Raman scholars together in various events (e.g. Raman School 2022). The joint workshop that took place on the final day of our second consortium meeting was among these rewarding get-togethers.

The workshop was a collaborative event by CHARISMA, EASI-STRESS and NanoMECommons all of which are NMBP-35 projects. Held on 24 November 2022 as a hybrid event in Athens/online, the workshop included presentations and oral talks from the experts in characterisation.

Our project coordinator Prof Dr Miguel A. Bañares (CSIC) gave a presentation entitled “Common achievements of NMBP-35 projects so far and the impact beyond the projects” within the scope of the workshop.

The panel on “characterisation and standardisation” was moderated by our project coordinator Dr Raquel Portela (CSIC) and focussed on the topics of standardisation of data schema in spectroscopy, which was followed by an open discussion led by experts Iván Moya (UNE - CHARISMA), Spyros Diplas (EMCC), Enrique Lozano (ELODIZ - CHARISMA), and Nikolaj Zangenberg (DTI).
